This Week in Stingray Swimming

Practices

Monday: Practice Optional

As Juneteenth (June 19) became a federal holiday in 2021 after a 158 year movement to officially recognize the end of slavery in 1865, this is the first weekday since this became a federally recognized holiday. Unfortunately as an oversight on our part, we did not add this into given days off of practice. This will become an optional practice.

Tues - Thurs: Normal practice

Fri: Fun Swim

Coach Appreciation Week

We are so excited to shower our amazing coaches with extra love and goodies next week to show our appreciation for all their hours and effort spent pouring into our swimmers.

Click here for Sign Up Genius to provide our coaches with breakfast & goodies each day and swimmers are welcome to drop off notes, favorite treats, or additional gift cards for the coaches into the personalized bins/bags that we'll have out at each pool.

Rookie Families - we are also celebrating our fabulous Rookie Assistants next week! We've compiled a few of their favorites to help you out. We will not leave bins out for them, so you are welcome to give your RA's their gifts directly.

Please let Mandy Hill or Michelle Jeffries know if you have any questions!

HOME MEET

June 22 - 6:00 PM - New Mark Stingrays vs. Walnut Creek Creekers
Willow Farms Pool - 9737 N Lydia Ave, KCMO 64155

ENTRIES - Please have your swimmers entered or marked as “not attending” before noon on Tuesday.

VOLUNTEERS - Check your arrival times on Swimtopia. If you cannot fulfill your obligation, please post the open position on the facebook page, then contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Melanie at 816-876-7885.

WARM-UPS - Swimmers should arrive by 4:30 for warmups at 4:45.

PARKING - available along the streets near the pool. Our parking lot is for Handicap, Officials, Coaches, and our VIP parking from our silent auction fundraiser. Additionally, there is no parking on the pool (east) side from the south gate to the first house (pool side only). This area will be blocked and flagged off.

CRASH AREA - All swimmers, parents and spectators must sit on grassy areas on the outside the fence. Please make sure to bring tarps or blankets that you don't mind getting dirty as the crash area can be damp. Tents are welcome in the grassy area. We also recommend mosquito repellent.

  • PLEASE STAY OFF THE LANDSCAPE. (Bushes, landscape pavers, rocks, and mulch)
  • The POOL chairs that are plastic may NOT be used at swim meets! Please do not touch these stacked chairs.
  • Willow Farms has installed a smoking bench. They're asking that we stay off that grassy area and away from the smoking bench when crashing. It is only for smokers and if you are a smoker please deposit your butt in the receptacle provided.

SPECTATORS - Come in and watch your swimmer, then please make room for the next family. The north and south gates will be both an entrance and an exit, but should remain closed at all times. ***A friendly reminder that no parents are allowed behind the blocks and NO ALCOHOL is all allowed on premises.

CONCESSIONS -  Weenies & Panini’s food truck menu is attached.  They accept cash, debit, credit and ApplePay.  Lilo’s Shaved Ice will also be in the parking lot. Heat sheets, highlighters, and Sharpies will also be available for sale on the pool deck by the south gate for $1.00 each.
