Welcome from the Thousand Oaks Otters Swim Team. We are looking forward to hosting New Mark on Thursday, June 8th.

Location and Parking: Our pool is located at 6630 N. Nevada Ave. Coming west on 45

highway, you go ¾ of the way around the traffic circle exiting to the south, then an immediate right turn onto Brink-Myer Road at the next traffic circle. Proceed straight at the stop sign and then turn left into Thousand Oaks onto Nevada Ave. The pool is about 0.3 miles on the right. There will be handicapped & reserved parking along the west side of Nevada Avenue. All other parking on the street will be parallel parking in the neighborhood. Please do not park in front of driveways of homeowners in our neighborhood.

Crashing/Spectating: We have reserved a spectator/crash area for your team along on the east side of the parking lot. (see included map) The parking lot can be VERY sunny for the first 90 minutes of the meet, so feel free to bring shade tents to set up. There will be NO crashing (chairs, tents) within the fenced pool area. Please do not sit on the rocked area on the east side of the pool when you are watching your swimmer. Please pick up all the trash around your area before leaving.

We want to limit access to the start end of the pool to swimmers, timers and officials. Spectators are welcome to enter the pool deck when your swimmer is called to the Clerk of the Course to watch your event. Please return to the crash area with your swimmer following their event in order to keep our numbers in the enclosure within the pool capacity limits. Parents of 8 and under swimmers are requested to accompany their children through the Clerk of the Course if available.

Warm-ups: Your team’s warm-up will be from 5:15PM to 5:45PM. There will be a coaches meeting at 5:10PM and scratches are due at that time. An officials meeting will be held at 5:30PM and the timers need to be in position by 5:50PM.

Concessions and Heat Sheets: Heat sheets will be available for $2. There will be

concessions for sale including: Pulled pork sandwiches, mac n cheese, hot dogs, and nachos in addition to drinks, chips, and candy.

All credentialed officials and coaches will receive a meal voucher at the coaches/officials meet prior to the meet.

Safety/Weather: If there is lightning, the two safest locations to take cover at the Thousand Oaks Pool are in cars or under the cabana. It is each parent or guardian’s responsibility to make sure they and the children under their control are safe. If the lightning detector on site indicates lightning is in the area, then lighting watchers will be posted and if lightning is spotted, the pool and pool deck will be cleared and there will be a 30 minute delay before resuming the meet.
