Swim Meet Information - New Mark @ Walnut Creek

Good afternoon, Stingrays!

Our first AWAY meet is this Thursday.  We are excited to visit the Walnut Creek Creekers!  Below you will find the meet information they have provided to make visit most enjoyable!

Welcome to Walnut Creek! Hello, New Mark!

We are looking forward to hosting you at our pool on Thursday evening! Our pool is located at 5502 NW Clubhouse Cove, Kansas City, Mo 64152

Parking: You may park on any of the streets surrounding the pool. Please do not block driveways or park on private property.

Concessions: We will have a food truck, RachEats, parked at our meet. Their menu consists of a variety of tacos. We’ll also have a variety of concessions available by the clubhouse.

Crash Area:  All swimmers and parents will crash in the grassy area outside the fence. We have a lot of space on the hill by the playground, the grassy area by the tennis courts, and all along the clubhouse. We are asking all parents to try and only be on the deck during their swimmers event group. This will allow everyone to enjoy watching their kids swim.

Clerk of the Course: Our Clerk of the Course area is right by the parking lot entrance and behind the diving blocks. It is run by veteran parents who keep things very organized! We ask that parents drop their swimmers in the Clerk of the Course area and go to find a good spot to watch, instead of hanging out around the chairs. This clears up congestion and ensures that each child makes it to their event on time.

Other Notes:

  • The kiddie pool is off limits during swim meets.
  • Heat sheets are available for purchase at the concession stand for $1.00.

Charity Event: At this week's meet, we will be raising awareness for Be The Match, Bone Marrow Donation

We are trying to raise awareness as we have a swim mom who is currently fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia and will be needing a bone marrow transplant. Cara Kent (Anna Kent's mom) has been unable to find a match through immediate family just as 70% of patients are unable to find a match within their family. This is why it is so important for community campaigns such as this one! Even if you can't help Cara, you may be able to save another life through Bone Marrow Donation.

Anyone ages 18 to 40 are eligible to register with Be a Match. All it takes is a simple cheek swap! There is no pain, and it just takes a few minutes to save a life!

We will host a booth at this Thursdays swim meet and those eligible and willing, will be able to swab right at the swim meet! We'll take care of sending the swab back for you!

It’s quick and simple, you may even be able to help save a life. www.caringbridge.org/visit/carakent-leukemi

Everyone who submits a swab will be entered into some drawings for fun prizes! Please know there is no pressure, but is is a simple and easy way to help out another swim family!
